Labradoodle Rescue at The Chiswick Show 28th September: -

A fantastic day was had by people and dogs alike at the Chiswick House Gardens dog show in West London on Sunday 28th September 08. The weather was perfect, not too hot for dogs and not too cold for the owners.
Labradoodle Rescue UK were kindly invited back to the show for the second year running and with over 1000 visitors during the day there was plenty of opportunity to answer the many questions people had regarding Labradoodles.
Rescue merchandise was on sale and as usual Pam’s bandanas were a huge hit, being the must haves of the day for any dog entering the fun competitions. It was lovely to see a few of our own rehomed Doodles with their new owners that had come especially to the show to see us.
So a big thank you to the girls that helped on the stall, they really helped to make the day successful.

Labradoodle Rescue at Paws in the Park, Kent, 13th & 14th September: -
Teetotallers would have found difficulty locating our stand this year as we were located in the beer tent which was slightly off the "beaten track".
Many people were surprised to discover that labradoodles need a rescue organisation but there was plenty of interest from people wanting to know more about doodles and Rescue.
One of the helpers this year was Midge Walster who, as an APDT trainer, was able to offer help and advice to anyone with training difficulties. Midge is also a trainer for DOGAID (dog assistance in disability) http://www.dogaid.org.uk/ and we displayed a board showing assistance dogs (including two labradoodles) demonstrating their abilities.
We held a tombola which was very successful, as was the sale of Rescue merchandise. The sale of bandanas was particularly good and there are now many Kentish dogs sporting colourful apparel.
We were lucky to meet many doodles, all of which behaved with impeccable manners. They would have been a reassurance to anyone who is going through the "teenage" phase with their own dogs.
Thank you to whoever organised the two days of sunny weather , it helped to make a very enjoyable weekend.

We are proud to unveil our new kennels:
Labradoodle Rescue do their utmost to ensure that any dog coming into our care is placed into a loving foster home. This is done so that the dog can live in a normal home environment as part of a family, and during this time be assessed for temperament, behaviour and health. However, with more dogs continuing to come into rescue, we felt it necessary to build emergency accommodation in order that no dog in need of our help is ever turned away. Our modern, heated kennels are now available as a stop gap in the case of an emergency until a suitable foster home is found.

Labradoodle Rescue would like to thank everyone who has supported us financially, as without your support, we would have been unable to finance this project. Our thanks also to Alan and his friends, who kindly gave up their time to build the kennels and runs.

Thank you.
