Oscar (previously Buster)

Thought you might appreciate a quick update on how Oscar is getting on.

He's finished his meds now.  He still has loose poo, but I'm not duly concerned (we went through this with Doodie) and I am pretty confident that he will get better in time.  We're taking him to the vets at the weekend, to get registered and advice on jabs, neutering etc.

We had a couple of very late nights/early mornings with him - the third morning we were up at 5.20am and he had messed in his crate.

After some thought, we decided to try him without his crate.  He didn't like going in it at night, crying every time we put him in and never chose to sleep in it during the day so I figured that he wasn't that attached to it!   We let him sleep with Doodie and put newspaper down by the back door.  Last night was a very successful night, we didn't hear a peep out of him when we went to bed, and he had done his business on the newspaper in the night, and was lounging in Doodie's bed when we got up.

He's calming down at feed times as well - I guess that's because the worms are just about gone now.

He's a very happy little chap - always comes running to say hi when we have been away from him for a while, very affectionate and loves to play.  We've managed to teach him to sit (although he may just be copying Doodie - not sure yet)!

He's fallen in the pond - well - he practically walked into the pond, then realised that it was water!  He can swim, he swam round in a circle to the edge and I hauled him back out again. It came as a bit of a shock to him and I don't think he'll be doing that again!

He's also quite taken with our fur beanbag, makes a run and dives onto it!  Loves to roll around and play on it, and sleep on it - so I have ordered two beanbag beds to be made for them both.

All in all, a surprisingly smooth and successful settling into the household.  I was expecting a lot more trouble than we have had, and I'm so pleased that he's with us.
