Pippin (now called Pippa)

Update from Pippa's new family: -

Pippa joined us on the 2nd October 2007. She was timid, terrified of the car and terribly confused…. I now cant go anywhere without her wanting to get in the car… she just loves life. She has settled into our way of life (free and easy!) with enthusiasm and is loved by all who meet her. Dilly is terribly put out that we have got a bouncy youth but Pip is determined to win her over. Dilly plays evil granny nearly all day and Pip just keeps on giving her the unconditional love and Dilly finally gave in last week and had a ‘chase me, chase me’ game with her in the field before having to tell her off again for wiping her out on the hill! Poor Dilly was bowled over yet again as Pip hasn’t quite worked out where the brakes are! She is getting better with my ever patient horses and now knows what the very important word that I say means…’aahh aahh - no’!!! Jumping on the 8ft bales of straw and then racing round the yard is the best game of all. She sadly had a trip to the vet about 2 weeks after we got her and she has a stomach ulcer – vet says due to stress – it has been treated and we give her 3 meals a day to add a little weight to her frame. Having said that she needs it as she thinks she is training for the next London Marathon …

Evenings are laid by the fire upside down on the floor next to the sofa or curled up on my husband’s lap!! She adores him as he is Mr Fun with lots of great games up his sleeve.

We thank you Labradoodle rescue for bringing together Pippa and us in our lives. We needed her and I think she needed us. She puts the amusement back into life and we are working hard with training that old poodle favorite command… the recall command. If she thinks its fun she will respond – if there is even a hint of crossness in my voice – then beetle off she will… trying to get rid of the timid streak in her and calm her little nerves that show themselves now and again.

Will def think about another doodle rescue – this time a boy – but in a year or so when we have established this lady into our lives a bit more.
